ATHENS

Athens, is a destination with a multifaceted charm that caters to diverse interests. Whether you're drawn to its rich history, vibrant lifestyle, or family-friendly attractions, Athens offers a unique blend of experiences.

For a first-time visit, consider exploring the classical wonders and iconic landmarks. Begin your journey in the historic heart of the city, where ancient meets modern. The Acropolis and its magnificent Parthenon are must-visit sites, showcasing the city's ancient glory. Wander through the charming Plaka district, known for its narrow streets, traditional tavernas, and neoclassical architecture.

If you're a frequent visitor to Athens, like me, you might prefer a more laid-back itinerary. My personal choice is to stay in the Kolonaki area, renowned for its upscale shops, cozy cafes, and art galleries. During the day, I often find myself enjoying the panoramic views from Lycabettus Hill, offering a peaceful escape from the bustling city below.

On sunny days, a stroll around the historic neighborhood of Anafiotika, nestled beneath the Acropolis, provides a delightful experience. I've also found relaxation in the National Garden of Athens, a green oasis in the heart of the city.

Don't miss the opportunity to indulge in a traditional Greek meal. Athens boasts an array of charming tavernas where you can savor local delicacies. One of my favorites is To Kafeneio in Plaka, offering authentic Greek flavors in a cozy setting.

As a ritual, I always include a visit to a traditional Greek kafeneio for a leisurely coffee. The ambiance and the laid-back atmosphere make it an essential part of my Athens experience. I particularly enjoy Kafeneio Mpalas, where time seems to slow down, allowing you to appreciate the simple pleasures of Greek life.
